Slicer Toluca Workshop: Segmentation and 3D Reconstruction

Intensive training in the use of 3D Slicer for medical image segmentation and 3D visualization.

June 10, 2024

Location: Facultad de Ingeniería, UAEMex, Toluca, Mexico

Description

The workshop focused on 3D Slicer's segmentation capabilities, guiding participants through workflows for processing medical images. Topics covered ranged from basic data loading to advanced segmentation techniques and model creation for 3D printing.

A workshop was organized by the Mexican team at the Faculty of Engineering UAEM and the PhD. Joel Zagoya López (collaborator on the project), his area of expertise is design with experience in segmentation and reconstruction of 3D models for 3D printing. This 6-hour workshop was carried out as part of the dissemination activities. This educational event was specifically designed for the students interested in medical imaging. The session had an outstanding attendance of 4 teachers and 17 students eager to acquire knowledge in this cutting-edge area.
